Mike Wagner started the band in April of 2009 with friends, Russell Blake and Nico Filoseta. Originally, they were called Minor Delinquents, but soon realized that the name didn't really click. So one day, Mike and Russell found "racing homer" in a dictionary and decided to choose this as their new band name.
Racing Homer creates music that will make you want to dance and sing along to. The rhythms are catchy, and the melodies make you want to smile. The songs will get stuck in your head after only one listen. One day, you will catch yourself singing a Racing Homer song when you don't even realize it.
When people refer to Racing Homer, they will always give you big names (i.e. Green Day, blink-182, etc.). Racing Homer's musical style is very closely related with that of Green Day and blink-182. Some songs can be like a punch in the face, and other songs are filled with softer melodies and you will want to dance and sing along to.
Racing Homer cites mainly different influences, including: Green Day, blink-182, The Ramones, Allister, Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, MxPx, The Offspring, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Simple Plan, Sum 41, Bowling for Soup, and The Bouncing Souls.
The live show is something you don't want to miss! People will always tell you that Racing Homer always puts on an unforgettable show. The energy on stage is something that is a must-see. This is not a band that comes to play music. This is a band that comes to entertain and have a great time with the music.
