Perrie’s voice has a superb clarity and tone to it that is rarely heard. His ease of melodic expression is natural and a sheer pleasure to listen to.” (Jennifer Wotzke, Vancouver Weekly) Based in Vancouver, Canada, the chemistry between Breaks and Perrie is unmistakable. Two multi-instrumentalists, they intertwine guitar, banjo, trumpet, piano and more, drawing audiences in with heartfelt lyrics, inspired by personal stories and the changing world around them.
It all started at an open mic about 5 years ago after Jer moved from his hometown, Prince George, in northern BC. The early days were spent forging a new friendship, writing songs and even busking at Vancouver's Granville Island Market. They've come a long way since then. No strangers to the road, they've been polishing their live show and turning heads at venues and festival stages across Canada including CMW, Harmony Arts Festival, Deraylor Festival and the Harrison Festival for the Arts. They’re an instant favourite with their upbeat roots sound.
In 2011 they released a self-titled EP that was produced by Elisa Pangsaeng and mixed by Tom Dobzanzski (Said the Whale, We Are The City). They’ve been selected two years in a row as a Top 20 artist in the Peak Performance Project with their songs "Bottom of the Sea" and "Alexandria" which have both received spins on 102.7 The Peak in Vancouver as well as college radio across Canada. In September 2012 they release “Songs at 140 BPM” which features two new singles, "Lovely, Lovely Day" and "When I Wait", produced and mixed by Warne Livesey (Matthew Good, Midnight Oil). Including the original demos of the new songs it gives fans an inside look at the writing and recording process. The singles have a bright folk/pop flavour that is signature "Redgy.” They are currently on a Canadian Tour from Vancouver to Montreal with acclaimed folk singer/songwriter Christa Couture and working on a full-length album to be release in 2013.
