Maybe This Christmas
Ron Sexsmith Lyrics

Maybe this Christmas will mean something more
Maybe this year
Love will appear
Deeper than ever before
And maybe forgiveness will ask us to call
Someone we've loved
Someone we've lost
For reasons we can't quite recall
Maybe this Chistmas
Maybe they'll be an open door
Maybe the star that's shown before will shine once more
And maybe this Christmas will find us at last
In heavenly peace
Grieve for the least
For the love we've been shown in the past
Maybe this Christmas
Maybe this Christmas

This , to my mind Ron ,

Is the Quintessential
Canadian Winter Christmas
Song Of this new Century ...
Receiving the baton ,
from brother Gordon LightFoot ,
In ' Song for a Winter's nite '

You brought that ' Spirit '
Into a Present Day formation ,
with this Gentle haunting ,
Sensitive , yearning ,
transcendental , Yuletide Gem !!

Well Done Ron !!

What a beautiful song!
There are some many misheard lyric version in the internet.
Dear Ron, is this one right?

Maybe this Christmas

Maybe this Christmas will mean something more.
Maybe this year love will appear deeper than ever before.
And maybe forgiveness will ask us to call someone we love,
someone we’ve lost for reasons we can’t quite recall.
Maybe this Christmas.

Maybe there’ll be an open door.
Maybe the star that shined before will shine once more.

(instrumental)

Maybe there’ll be an open door.
Maybe the star that shined before will shine once more.

Maybe this Christmas we’ll* find us at last in heavenly peace,
grateful at least for the love we’ve been shown in the past
Maybe this Christmas.
Maybe this Christmas.

* or: Maybe this Christmas will find us at last in heavenly peace, ...   ???

Wow. One of my absolute favourite Christmas songs of all time. When I first heard it, my jaw hit the floor, and when the song ended I stood in stunned awe for a few moments. Something about that song truly touches the heart.

Ron your music is truly amazing. My kids love your “forever endeavour” album. It’s so catchy that my kids start randomly humming and singing the songs. And out of all the amazing music in my collection, including Van Morrison and others, they beg to fall asleep to that album, and love the track “nowhere to go”.

You’re the best man.
