A Glass of Champagne
Sailor Lyrics

I've got the money, I've got the place
You've got the figure, you've got the face
Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne

I've got the music, I've got the lights
You've got the figure full of delights
Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne

Now, I've been waiting much too long
For this moment to come along
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!
(A little glass of champagne)

I've been thinking night and day (night and day)
For this moment to be this way
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!

I've got position, I've got the name
You've got the power to drive me insane
Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne

I've been waiting much too long (much too long)
For this moment to come along
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!
(A little glass of champagne)

Let's get together, the two of us over a glass of champagne (4x)

From an era when bands were having an absolute ball performing, enjoying & happy with their music. Great to see!

Clive Edwards

I remember trying to find this track on a Roxy Music album..years before I realised it was Sailor..great song..bet Bryan wished he sang it

Mark my words

For years I believed that Boys of Summer was a Bryan Adams song.

Deedee 60

Such a catchy song. Was a part of the soundtrack to my youth! AND I STILL LOVE IT!

Roz Voullaire

A blast from the past - loved this song when I first heard it as a youngster on Countdown (Australia) and still love it!

BaddaBigBoom

A favourite classic from the 70s - love it (and Girls Girls Girls) !

I hear this for the first time on BBC Sounds of the Seventies a few weeks ago, and have been playing it regularly ever since. Seems apt given lockdown and everyone looking forward to celebrating with friends when this is all over.

Tim Parker-Chambers

The first time I heard it, was on the M&S advert with Twiggy, Erin O'Connor and Noemie Lenoir... Still my favorite ad, they all looked like they were having such a great time filming it 😍😍😍😍😍

Bad Lieutenant

@Patricia Lynn-Macrae Wouldn't be surprised if it's in one of their albums, or even better a Best Of as they had another hit called Girls, Girls, Girls which I think is just as good as Glass Of Champagne.

Edit: Both tracks are on their 1975 'Trouble' album though I reckon a Greatest Hits compilation would be a better way to get into a bands back catalogue.
