1. The Sandkings were Jaz Mann (Vocals), Glenn Dodd (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Dave Brown (Bass) and Terry Kirkbride (Drums/Baking Vocals) from Wolverhampton. They played catchy, jangly indie pop.
The first single "Rain" was released in 1988 and featured a different vocalist. They released a number of singles, one EP and one album "Welcome To England" which was released in 1992.
Two further singles were released in 1992 and the band broke up due to musical differences between vocalist Jaz Mann and the rest of the band.
Jaz (better known as Jas Mann) went on to form Babylon Zoo and gained the #1 spot in over 20 countries with the single "Spaceman".
Unfortunately all of the Sandkings back catalogue has been deleted for many years. The Sandkings still have a small dedicated fan base and they are now represented on the internet at www.thesandkings.tk
