Come On Eileen
Save Ferris Lyrics

Come on Eileen, come on Eileen

Poor old Johnny Ray
Sounded sad upon the radio
He moved a million hearts in mono
Our mothers used to sing along
Who'd blame them?

You're grown
(You're grown up)
So grown
(So grown up)
Now I must say more than ever

Come on Eileen
Toora, loora, toora, loorye, aye
And we can sing just like our fathers

Come on Eileen
Oh, I swear, well, he means
At this moment, you mean everything

You in that dress
Oh, my thoughts, I confessed
Verge on the dirty
Ah, come on Eileen

Come on Eileen
These people round here
Wear beaten down eyes
Sun in smoke dried faces
Resigned to what their fate is

But not us
(No, never)
No, not us
(No, never)
We are far too young and clever
Remember

Toora, loora, toora, loorye, aye
Eileen, I'll let this tune forever
Toora, loora, toora, loorye, aye
Eileen, I'll let this tune forever

Come on Eileen
Oh, I swear, well, he means
Ah, come on let's take off everything

That pretty red dress
Oh, Eileen tell him yes
Oh, come on let's, ah, come on Eileen

Come on Eileen
Oh, I swear, well, he means
At this moment you mean everything

Come on Eileen, tooloorye, aye
Come on Eileen, tooloorye, aye
Toora, toora tooloorye, oh, Eileen

I said, come on Eileen oh, come on Eileen
We are far too young and clever
And things won't ever change
And I say, toora, loora, toora loorye, aye

Come on Eileen
Oh, I swear, well, he means
At this moment, you mean everything to me

Oh, to me, oh, Eileen
You mean everything

"Come On Eileen"

Poor old Johnny Ray
Sounded sad upon the radio
He moved a million hearts in mono
Our mothers used
To Sing along,
who'd blame them....

you're grown... (you're grown up)
so grown... (so grown up)
now I must say more than ever

Come on eileen

Too ra loo ra, too ra loo rye aye
And we can sing just like our fathers

[Chorus:]
Come on Eileen,
oh I swear well he means
At this moment, you mean everything
You in that dress
Oh my thoughts I confess
Verge on dirty
Ah come on Eileen

Come on eileen...

These people round here
wear beaten down eyes
Sunk in smoke dried faces
Resigned to what their fate is
But not us (no never),
no not us (no never)
We are far too young and clever,
Remember

Too ra loo ra, too ra loo rye aye
Eileen I'll hum this tune forever
2x

Come on Eileen
oh I swear what he means
Ah come on let's
take off everything
That pretty red dress
Oh Eileen tell him yes
Ah come on let's,
Ah come on Eileen

Come on eileen
Oh I swear what he means,,
At this moment
You mean everything

Rege:
Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye
Come on Eileen too-loo rye-aye
Too ra, too ra-too-loora
Ooo Eileen....

I said,
Come on eileen...

Whenever I listen to this song, I wonder of SEGA's music department was inspired by this new version to make "Escape from the City" from Sonic Adventure 2.

Original lyric (City Escape lyric)

"Poor old Johnnie Ray (Rolling around at the speed of sound)
Sounded sad upon the radio, set a million hearts in mono (Got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow).
Our mothers cried (Can't stick around, have to keep moving on),
Sang along, who'd blame them (Guess what lies ahead, only one way to find out!)
Now you're grown, so grown... (Must keep on moving ahead)
Now I must say more than ever (No time for guessing, follow my plan instead.)
Go toora loora toora loo rye aye (Trusting in what you can't see)
And we can sing just like our fathers (Take my lead I'll set you free)
Come on Eileen, oh I swear (what he means) (Follow me, set me free)
At this moment, you mean everything (Trust me and we will escape from the city)"

Try singing the lyrics to City Escape with an instrumental of this song... It sounds like they were meant to be mashed up.

My step sister plays this song every time before her hockey tournaments... it brings joy to the whole family. I haven't seen her in about a month and I've heard this song 18 times. I think it's a sign she misses me as much as I do.

Goose kimball

I can see why she listens to it so often...

lmfao

Shaquille Oat'meal

What happened? Is she okay??

It really depends on my mood, but sometimes, I actually prefer this to the original. It's far from bad, and if I'm just feeling like having some Ninties' ska fun, these guys are among the ones who I turn to, and I must admit that, if you're into the genre yourself, it's far from an injustice to the original.

a

Ya imo it’s superior to the original

Aydin

I like this version a lot more. The original feels awkward and too slow for me. Probably influenced by the fact this is the last song played by our band every local sports game...

@Sam Saylor good to hear, best wishes to you fellow human being.

Sam Saylor

@Jeff G Yeah, I wasn't particularly sure I liked ska at the time. Things have changed though, and I actually spend a lot of time listening to ska. My favorite band in the genre is actually Oingo Boingo, although I like to have Reel Big Fish going if I'm drawing something funny.

Jeff G

That's a very round about and non committal way to say you like ska. It's okay to admit you like ska, even more so 7 years after your comment. I know from experience. In this current year 2021AD it might be hard to be yourself, but try not to feel shame or doubt about your passions.
