Addicted
Saving Abel Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything
When you're loving me

Ooh, girl, let's take it slow

So as for you, well, you know where to go
I wanna take my love and hate you 'til the end

It's not like you to turn away
From all the bullshit I can't take
It's not like me to walk away

I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything
When you're loving me
Yeah

And I know when it's getting rough
All the times we spend
Trying to make this love something better than
Just making up again

It's not like you to turn away
All the bullshit I can't take
Just when I think I can walk away

I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything
I'm so addicted to
The things you do
When you're going down on me
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything
When you're loving me
Yeah
When you're loving me

How can I make it through
All the things you do
There's just gotta be more to you and me

I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything
It's unlike anything
I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything

I'm so addicted to you
Addicted to you

Overall Meaning

Saving Abel's song Addicted is about an addictive and unhealthy relationship. The singer is addicted to a person who makes him feel amazing when they are intimate, but also causes him a lot of emotional pain. The song is full of contradictions, the singer both loves and hates the person he is with, he wants them to go slow, but he is addicted to their sexual acts. He even acknowledges that the relationship is not healthy, and he should walk away, but he cannot resist their sexual pull. While the singer is aware of how damaging the relationship is, he cannot seem to escape their clutches.

The lyrics are full of sexual innuendos, the singer is so entranced by the person's acts that he cannot control himself. He craves the sound they make and the way they breathe when they are together. He is asking if there is more to their relationship, but he already knows there is not. He is so addicted to the person that he is willing to put his own emotional well-being aside to be with them. The song is a cautionary tale about how toxic a relationship can become when one is addicted to someone else.
