Though they offer a pre-school introduction to music for children age two through six, the majority of their students are in a performance-based program where students are accepted at any skill level, with the goal getting them on stage, playing a concert before a paying audience. The most skilled students in each school form a band and play concerts in their city, and the top students from each school compete to become a member of an "All-Star" band and tour regionally. They have recently expanded to offering career development for working bands, and "Grad School" for adult amateur musicians. Successful musicians occasionally serve as "Guest Professors" and perform with the students.

2) School of Rock as a collaboration between Jack Black and The Mooney Suzuki for the film by the same name.
Apart from the songs "School of Rock" and "It's a Long Way to the Top" this is an incorrect name for a soundtrack by various artists. If this non-artist appears in your charts, please fix your tags.

In desperation he lends the identity of his roommate Ned Schneebly (Mike White) and becomes a substitute teacher at a prep school. School of Rock Lyrics
Baby we was makin' straight A's.
But we was stuck in the dumb days.
Don't take much to memorize your lies.
Feel like I been hypnotized.
And then that magic man, he come to town
Who he gone spun my head around.
He said "recess is in session! two and two make five!"
And now baby, oh, I'm alive.
Aw yeah! Oh, I'm alive!
And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Baby, you better just forget it.
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.
Oh, you know I was on the honor roll,
Got good grades, ain't got no soul!
Raise my hand before I could speak my mind.
I been bitin' my tongue too many times.
And then that magic man said to obey! (Uh huh)
Do what magic man do, not what magic man say.
Now can I please have the attention of the class, today's assignment,
Kick some ass!
And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Baby, you just better forget it.
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.
And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Baby, you just better forget it.
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.
This is my final exam.
Now y'all know who I am.
I may not be that perfect son,
But y'all be rockin' when I'm done!

I whole-heartedly believe that Jack Black’s performance in this movie is one of the best of all time, and that he should’ve been nominated for an academy award.
sleeping gorilla
“Best of all time” is a stretch. It is Jack Blacks best starring role. One of the few times a director knew how to use Jacks performance style to make the movie better.
Credit due. This movie would probably not have been made without JB involved.
Runner Go
It's been two years. Has he gotten an award yet? He deserves a life time award!
KDJ
0:32 is absolutely phenomenal acting
Chick Bowdrie
He wasn't performing. He just showed up on set and just acted how he normally does
Self-Righteous Ideologue
Bro, he's literally the same character in every movie. Similar to how Chris Farley was. That doesn't mean it's bad, but you can't be nominated for an Oscar by being the same character in every film. This one is no different
Plastic Cleopatra
i love how Dewey is supposed to be a loser but he knows how to read musical notes and knows how to play every instrument.
Some Guy
@Ben G we he isn’t fired. He quits.
Cha🍕
The point was that he was chasing the dream of being a rockstar when that wasn’t his purpose
Drew Hoffman Music
Right. His character isnt remotely accomplished on guitar or any other instrument... BUT he is a great musical director, can arrange, delegate parts, read music, and is super passionate.. thats literally the recipe for a great music teacher. Right up to the part where he cant really play his instrument haha.. but it doesnt hurt when a good music teacher also really rips on their instrument
