Machado's first album 'Te has preguntado?' available for immediate download
When Daniel Machado starts telling you a story, there is nothing you can do, but listen. A born storyteller. With his positive and open spirit, charm and his ability to faithful observe, perceive and analyse situations, the MC, songwriter and producer catches your attention. Machado‘s sophisticated and poetic lyrics deal not only with stories to be told, but also are his rhymes socially conscious. Machado breaks taboos and is concerned about equality and fairness. The energetic and still rare fusion of Latin Jazz and HipHop reflect the roots of the artist and together with his distinguished voice he creates his own unique style. His music reminds of a harmonious combination of Mongo Santamaría, Lou Donaldson, Guru‘s Jazzmatazz and Talib Kweli and is associated with bands such as Orishas and Systema Solar.
Already at an early age, Machado was surrounded by the music of his country. Latin Jazz. Rhythms and Vibes. The Colombian, raised in Bogotá, came in contact with HipHop at the age of 15 and joined the fast growing movement, whereby he discovered his talent for rapping, which became an integral part of his life. After graduating from high school, Machado moved to Aruba and started studying. Through a series of coincidences he began writing his own lyrics and soon enough launched his first track‚ Ilegales touching on the topics of immigration and racism, which had an immediate impact and recognition amongst Latin communities. Machado successfully released his first album‚Te has preguntado? produced with no less than Junior Ruiz in 2004. The album has been considered as the Underground Hit, enjoyed recognition in countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Miami, France and the Netherlands.
