The names "Seth Faergolzia" and "Dufus" have long been associated in the freak-folk community with the frenetic, unpredictable, and defiant voice warbling of the NYC-based singer/songwriter, and an equally enthusiastic backing ensemble, who play with every bit of raw power and energy as a marching band on the Fourth of July.
The mastermind behind his 13-year-long, NYC-based project "Dufus", Seth Faergolzia has also established a respected career as a solo artist, in all stacking up more than 20 albums and playing in over 20 countries, alongside such acts as The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jeffrey Lewis, Regina Spektor, The Moldy Peaches, Animal Collective, Dan Deacon.
Since the 2010 dissolution of Dufus, Seth has been spending his time in Rochester, NY, working harder than ever on several creative pursuits. In addition to frequently touring Europe and the U.S. as a solo musician, Seth rehearses with an ensemble of 13-odd people, now dubbed the 23 Psaegz, a group of local musicians originally recruited in 2010 to perform and record Seth's epic rock opera, also named "23 Psaegz."
Seth Faergolzia and the Psaegz have recorded one album so far: "Tin Wood Soldier," released in April 2012. A recording project for the rock opera is underway.
Many Psaegz are also members of other local musical projects in Rochester, notably Paxtor, There I Say Is Lightning, The Sleep Soundlies, Bogs Visionary Orchestra, Passive Aggressives Anonymous, and Heck Yup!
