Shamantis can only be best described as "if Enya or Boards of Canada got lost in the depths of the Amazon". With influences ranging from Shpongle and Ott to obscure Hindustani and Brazilian music, it is no wonder that Shamantis is quite a unique experience.
Nick's journey with music starts with him playing around with instruments when he was a toddler. He started off on guitar when he was 11, moved onto piano when he was 14, and then started producing at the age of 19 when he realized he was beatboxing over his piano playing. He has been studying music theory for 6 years, also having played piano in his high school's jazz band for 3 years.
As a producer, Nick has proven himself ahead of the curve as far as quality and adaptability. He wrote his first album, Music for Dolphins, with a broken keyboard that only had 8 working keys, causing him to come up with inventive ways to make full songs with complex piano solos. It was only in December of 2009 that Nick got his first piece of working studio gear - a MIDI controller with 49 keys.
Given his young age, imagination, and forward-thinking composition, it is no debate that Nick is a producer to keep your eye on.
Nick also produces dubstep under the moniker Halo Nova and composes music for video games and films.
