By then, Noonan had been hailed by the Los Angeles magazine Cheetah as one of the "Orange County Three," a trio of singer/songwriters from the area to watch out for; the others being Jackson Browne and Tim Buckley. Prior to his album, in 1967, Noonan had success co-writing (with Greg Copeland) a minor hit single for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, "Buy Me for the Rain".
