Superstition
Stevie Wonder Lyrics

Very superstitious, writings on the wall
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way

Very superstitious, wash your face and hands
Rid me of the problems, do all that you can
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong
You don't want to save me, sad is my song

When you believe in things you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way, yeh, yeh

Very superstitious, nothin' more to say
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way, no, no, no

Hope you haven’t lost your eyesight to this day and can still see! 😊

If it makes you feel any better… If you try hard enough you can rewire your eyes’ nerves to your ears and you can see what you hear… You’re gonna have to learn to use both brains to compensate the lost sense

An example how I would re-wire if I was in your position is. -

Your left ear is gonna have to draw the shape for you (vibrations)

Your right ear is gonna fill the emotions of the sounds for you (tones)

easier said than done…

Mmm.. pretty much the same reason why great singers are usually depressed or really happy.. they’re really good at using their right ear to hear tones and they get overwhelmed with emotions… I think..

Very superstitious,
Writing's on the wall,
Very superstitious,
Ladders bout' to fall,
Thirteen month old baby,
Broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck,
The good things in your past

When you believe in things
That you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition aint the way

Hey

Very superstitious,
Wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem,
Do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream,
Keep me goin' strong,
You don't wanna save me,
Sad is the soul

When you believe in things
That you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way,
Yeh, yeh

Very superstitious,
Nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious,
The devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby,
Broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck,
Good things in your past

When you believe in things
That you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way,
No, no,

Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders 'bout to fall,
Thirteen-months-old baby broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way

Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong,
You don't wanna save me, sad is my song

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way, yeah, yeah

Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen-months-old baby broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past

As a person slowly losing my sight, this is the single most inspiring song that I can sing as the light fades. Learning to play it on the keyboard is the joy of my life at the moment. God bless you Stevie.

My mom has a bad migraine and is wearing light blocking glasses. She came out of her bedroom to this song and me laughing hysterically!😂
