Plath was married to fellow poet Ted Hughes, with whom she had two children, Frieda and Nicholas. She had suffered from depression throughout her life, surviving numerous suicide attempts, but finally ended her life in 1963. Her last work, 'Ariel' is often considered to be her best work. She won the Pulitzer Prize posthumously, in 1982.
