Formed in 2014, the group consists of lead vocalist Vaidotas Valiukevičius, percussionist Robertas Baranauskas and guitarist Mantas Banišauskas. The group has released two albums—To Whom It May Concern in 2015 and Ghosts in 2017–as well as the extended play Yes, I Do in 2018.[2] They were due to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with their song "On Fire" after winning their country's national selection, before the contest was cancelled. Instead of being internally selected for next year, as many other countries have done, The Roop was guaranteed a position in their country's national selection's final with their song "Discoteque", which ended up winning, allowing them to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. They signed with Warner Music Baltics on October 15th 2020.
THE ROOP certainly take their work seriously. This new, fresh-sounding pop rock band released their video for debut single "Be Mine" with international actress and social message in November of 2014. But don't be mistaken – they're far from being inexperienced. All members of the band have been previously active in other music-related projects and the lead singer is also known as a TV host and an actor.
They spent almost four years in the studio looking for that perfect sound - writing 50 songs in the process before finally deciding on 10 good enough for their debut album "To Whom It May Concern". You can listen to the album on Spotify or buy it on Bandcamp. Record came out on November 30th, 2015; and CD came out on March 25th, 2016.
An extra touch was added by Australian Leon Zervos – top mastering engineer from Studios 301 (Sydney) who has worked with INXS, Aerosmith, Muse, Coldplay and many other music's biggest names.
THE ROOP music is being played in different countries all around the globe: Lithuania, Belgium, Germany, France, Australia, Columbia, Romania, Serbia, Brasil, USA and etc.
