It finally saw the light of day with help from their fans and a successful Indiegogo campaign. Their third album was released in time to be nominated for 4 Niagara Music Awards. They ended up winning best Original band. The album was recorded at Groundloop Studio in Ridgeway, Ontario as were the bands first two albums. As well as Producing, Dean Malton also played all the lead guitars. Rob Killian plays all the piano & keys. They have been performing live in the Niagara Region and trying to promote the new music as much as an independent band can. It all started when The Black Flies formed in the bitter month of January, 2007.With songs ready from both song-writers, Jeremy Vokey & Nathanial Goold a few rehearsals under their belt and it was off to gig & record. There was a natural flow & mutual respect between all 4 members including Jay Forhan on Bass & Chris Chudobiak on drums. In the spring of 2008, the band released their first sessions of songs, which turned into their highly acclaimed debut record "Road Ahead". They won the Niagara Music Awards 2009 Group of the Year award, as well as being nominated for Best Album, Best Rock Band & Video of the Year for "You were Miles".They also had the song Train used in the Canadian Indie Feature Film "GravyTrain". In early 2009 the band recorded the follow up "Middle of the Night".They won the 2010 Folk Group of the Year at the Niagara Music Awards for that album.
