Forming in fall of 2008, this adventurous and outrageously energetic group of brigands has already taken the nation by storm. They have a slew of valiant, terrifying, and amusing songs, some of which have been featured on radio stations KIOZ Rock 105.3 and Bilgemunky Pirate Radio. This swashbuckling crew has had their music featured in Volcom surf videos, performed and been interviewed on KUSI morning news, joined the select lineup of musicians included on the popular New Orleans music preservation CD series, Lafitte's Return, and performs at some of the largest fairs in America, including The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire, The Bristol Renaissance Faire, and the L.A. County Fair; all with attendances in the tens of thousands.
Featuring Captain Wolfbeard O’Brady on accordion and tin whistle, Quartermaster Nathaniel Grizzlejaw on anglo concertina, First Mate Riven Rahl on toy piano, Carpenter Ruba Jouba on mandolin and guitar, Navigator Smithy Crow on bass, cello, viola, and violin, and Gunmaster Castle on drums, percussion, and steel pans, Oddwood is steadfast gaining popularity in the pirate music genre with their epic seafaring sound and extensive vocal harmonization. Their debut album, Reign the Helm, features not only distinctive original work, but their critically-acclaimed covers from the spectrum of traditional Irish music to video game soundtracks as well.
