The Step And The Walk
The Duke Spirit Lyrics
Ten English pounds
And these hot pavement fields
As though I'm moving to the end
Am I moving to the end of your loving?
How, how did I do this?
Me, I put the wall around my heart
Why didn't I notice such cold detachment from the start?
Oh, the joys they slammed down
And the one in this town was bright enough
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
I could feel forever the same
So how, how did I do this?
Oh, me I put that box around my heart
Why couldn't I notice such a cool detach from the start?
Oh, the joys they slammed down
From the one in this town is bright enough
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
Yeah, I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
Yeah, I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
Oh, I could feel forever the same
Without joy, joy, joy in the rain
I could feel forever the same

Saw these guys in a tiny little music club called The Echo in Los Angeles over 10 years ago I think it was either 2008 or 2009, whenever this album came out. They performed this song. The stage was so small the guitar players were practically hitting each other. I remember seeing billionaire Steve Bing standing in a dark corner and I remember Oliver the drummer walking by me holding four shot glasses full of whiskey on his way to back room where they stayed. Good times!

Who are the 6 people who dislike this song? I guess there's no accounting for taste... The Duke Spirit are an amazing band. :-)

I crossed the country on a motorcycle listening to this album... and some Black Keys album... it was perfect, lol.

I'm a bit late to the party, but was hooked from first hearing this band. They're firmly on my playlist and I'll be keeping an eye out for their touring dates. Love, Love, Love......
