The Four Pennies Lyrics

There was a love, I knew before
She broke my heart, left me unsure
Juliet, don't forget
The promise you made, I need never be afraid
Things you do, reminiscent of you
Juliet, when we, when we met
You gave me, sweet memories
Things you do reminiscent of you
There was a love I knew before
She broke my heart, left me unsure
Juliet, don't you, oh don't you let
My love go astray, in this way
Julie , Julie, Julie, oh Julie
Oh my Juliet, Julie oh Julie
Oh my Juliet...fades...

Saw them the last night they ever performed at the Starlight Club near Blackburn with my girlfriend. Been married to her for 52 years I am 76 years of age still love all these great bands.

Blackpool ROX

I was there on their farewell tour and the starlight club was one of the places they played. Another venue that same week was down Burnley. The drummer Alan Buck refused to join them, so I was invited to play drums, but got just beaten to the post by another drummer. I was invited to cruise around to their final gigs with them.

We contracted this group before they hit the charts and they came all the way down to Pembrokeshire to perform in our youth club, what a brilliant bargain we had. I met my wife at that performance and we have now been married 51 years, what a lovely memory

I worked for their Manager in an office just inside Salford. The sweet actress Julia Foster (who later became Ben Fogel 's mum) popped in occasionally with hubby Lionel Morton. Lovely lads. Happy days.

One of my 60's favourites. My mother loved it also. It was so different to everything at the time. Pity it was so short.
