Let's Live For Today
The Grass Roots Lyrics

When I think of all the worries
People seem to find
And how they're in a hurry
To complicate their minds

By chasing after money
And dreams that can't come true
I'm glad that we are different
We've better things to do

May others plan their future
I'm busy loving you
(One, two, three, four!)

Sha la la la la la live for today
Sha la la la la la live for today
And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey
Sha la la la la la live for today (live for today)

We were never meant to worry
The way that people do
And I don't mean to hurry
As long as I'm with you

We'll take it nice and easy
And use my simple plan
You'll be my lovin' woman
I'll be your lovin' man

We'll take the most from living
Have pleasure while we can
(Two, three, four!)

Sha la la la la la live for today
Sha la la la la la live for today
And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey
Sha la la la la la live for today (live for today)

Baby, I need to feel you inside of me
I got to feel you deep inside of me
Baby, please come close to me
I got to have you now, please, please

Please, please gimme some a-lovin'
To gimme some a-lovin'
To gimme some a-lovin'
To gimme some a-lovin'

Baby, gimme some a-lovin'
Gimme some a-lovin'
Got to have all your lovin'
Gimme some a-lovin'

I need all your lovin'
Gimme some a-lovin'
Now I need all your loving

Sha la la la la la live for today
Sha la la la la la live for today
And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey
Sha la la la la la live for today
(Oh, no, no, no, no, no)
Sha la la la la la live for today

There is no good reason for anyone to dislike this. Beautiful.

Weirdly enough, I bet the downvotes are from the boomers who didn't take this advice themselves. I was born in the 80s and devoured the brilliant wisdom of the folk music and social justice anthems of the 60s. It made me both admire my elders and grow increasingly disillusioned with them- how can such knowledge and understanding exist alongside such ignorance with increasing frequency? I wish I could talk with Rob today. Where are the wise adults today? I'm 36 years old and I've been looking for you guys this whole time. I can't be the adultiest adult in my life, I need at least one that has more wisdom than myself.

NO, I cannot see anyone getting turned off on a song with lyrics such as these! Sure, its 50 or so years ago, however, consider how meaningful this songs message is today,2020 with thousands of victims, and the untold thousands of nurses, docs, nurses aides, mri, radiology techs, the many National guard, law enforcement who are are conducting testing sites across our country(USA), and all the families who are closer to great danger feel about their fate as we hold on to a prayer we ALL survive,THIS SONG IS SO VERY meaningful now, in 2020! the lyrics are very true! GOD Bless us all!!! Babe 4.11.20.

I know, right: you would have to be a stinker to do that

They are lacking enough brain cells to know great music when they hear it.
