Lost In My Mind
The Head and the Heart Lyrics

Put your dreams away for now
I won't see you for some time
I am lost in my mind
I get lost in my mind

Momma once told me
You're already home where you feel love
I am lost in my mind
I get lost in my mind

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

Oh my brother
Your wisdom is all that I need
Oh my brother
Don't you worry 'bout me

Don't you worry
Don't you worry, don't worry about me

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

How's that bricklayin' coming
How's your engine running
Is that bridge getting built
Are your hands getting filled

Won't you tell me my brother
'Cause there are stars up above
We can start moving forward

Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

How's that bricklayin' coming
How's your engine running
Is that bridge getting built
Are your hands getting filled

Won't you tell me my brother
'Cause there are stars up above
We can start moving forward

Lost in my mind
Lost in my mind
Oh I get lost in my mind
Lost, I get lost, I get lost in my mind
Lost in my mind
Yes I get lost in my mind
Lost, I get lost, I get lost

Oh I get lost
Oh I get

Don't worry about me
How's that bricklaying coming?
How's your engine running?
Is that bridge getting built?

I lost my youngest son who was 19 in a car wreck last week. My family is grieving and having a very difficult time. We buried him 1 day shy of his 20th birthday. My oldest son is 22 and is lost without his brother. At his lowest point tonight he turned on the radio and this song was playing. He felt as if his little brother was sending him a message. He found great comfort in listen to this song and asked us to listen to it. We sat around crying our eyes out at how touching this was for him to hear. Thank you for making such a beautiful song.

How are you doing now, my dear friend?

I was 23 when my brother passed away from a car wreck at 19. I feel your pain. Not one day passes that I don't think of him. Now, 17 years later I have learned to celebrate knowing him and telling those funny stories to my 2 boys. The still refer to him as Uncle Josh. He will forever live in our hearts. I live every day with the memories of my little brother. I pray you and your son can do the same. It never gets easier, you just learn to adjust your thoughts and memories to be a celebration not a devastation. One thing I had to tell my parents was forget the day he passed away and ONLY celebrate the life he lived on his birthday! We are wired to remember the negative things, but the positive things are what keeps us going. Stay strong brother, your son was blessed to have a loving family while he was here!!

people need to get together and start doing crazy stuff like hanging out in the snow singing songs with hundreds of twinkling lights surrounding them. so much possibility in the world and most of it is wasted over the fear of being weird or eccentric.

Or just worthless stuff. Look at where we are,
far we have come, and where we are going. I have faith that everything will be ok. Gotta make it through these modern day dark ages is all. Hope everyone's doing the best they can in this life. Keep moving forward staying positive, and when you are able and feel it...enjoy the shit out of that happiness.
