People Get Ready
The Impressions Lyrics

People get ready, there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith, to hear the diesels hummin'
Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

So people get ready, for the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board 'em
There's hope for all, among those loved the most

There ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Whom would hurt all mankind, just to save his own, believe me now
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
For there is no hiding place, against the kingdom's throne

So people get ready there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith, to hear the diesels hummin'
Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

When music had soul, meaning and harmony!
Masterpiece/masterclass of a song!
Thank you to the late great and legendary: Mr.
Curtis Mayfield!
Rest In Glory.
Thank you to the almighty Impressions!
Salute!
Did "770" individuals really dislike this historic ballad?
Sad!

I know it is cliché to say this but, they really just do not make music like this today.

@Ernesto Hendrix just using recording from live instruments and no machines, also a slower rhythm overall(something like tht idk how to get my finger on it).

Please lord, let us return to making music again like we did in the 60’s and 70’s.

1966.  Army Basic Training.  I started singing this song while on a 20 mile march.  A lot of fellow soldiers joined in.  The Drill Sergeants didn't stop us so we sang the whole march through.  It was a good night.
