It's Just Begun
by The Jimmy Castor Bunch

Watch me now
Fill the room
Into something
Gonna make you move

Here we come
On the run
Don't know what
We're running from

Day or night
Black or white
That's the scene
You gotta do your thing
You gotta do your thing

Peace will come
This world will rest
Once we have
Togetherness ah

Day or night
We had fun
But it's just begun
It's just begun
It's just begun

It's just begun

Im married to a Puerto Rican woman. We had a BBQ and for the first time most of her family came up from the Bronx to Westchester County (we moved on up) I played this song and it was like we were teleported back to 1981. We got some card board from from a table we just brought and we got busy........Until the paramedics and cops showed up. Our kids got scared and called 911. lol

Netflix has a series called hip hop evolution. The first episode it is about the foundation of Hip Hop. They were started talkin about street gangs of the day I heard names I have not heard in many years like the black Spades Savage Saints Etc they interview a lot of the pioneers of the day Grandmaster Flash Kurtis Blow and many others. also they talk with Afrika Bambaataa out of the Bronx River houses. I had to laugh when they call that the East Bronx cos Castle Hill was about as East as you could get before you hit the water LOL any way they played this song and got me thinking about all the great artist and music from this time that gave birth to what hip-hop is today. It started in the Bronx baby!

I too moved up from the Bronx to Westchester back in the day. Came from Castle Hill Avenue projects. And I am also half nuyorican. Yeah there's something in this beat reaches down deep. When I hear this song I also feel like breaking out with the cardboard. But I know what comes after that . 6 weeks in traction!!! LOL
