The quartet consists of Simon Evariste on bass duties, Benjamin Rousseau as the backboning drums & percussion, Robin Genais on leading guitarwork, and frontman, lead singer & rhythm guitarist Tom Cornière-David. They are currently signed to heavy rock leader Ripple Music.
Their Ripple Music bio page reads as follows, "The Necromancers are so goddam dark and mysterious they don't even have a bio. Oooooooh! [sic.] " Yet, drawing from antiquated inspirations in mythology and religious, fantastical tales from European literature, as well as an obsession for classical horror cinema from last century, the Necromancers are a curious alliance of musicians hailing from a wide range of backgrounds that, together, are a strange beast to behold.
Experimenting from progressive rock to doom metal, heavy psych and the '70s early pagan proto-metal sounds from bands of the likes of Black Sabbath and Coven, their music is a condensed hybrid of muddy influences, emerging from fuzzy and mesmerising witchy riffs to metallic passion and thickened doom, altogether throw then in the urgency of NWOBHM, dousing the entire lot into lysergic illusions.
Their debut full-length Servants of the Salem Girl was released on August 18th, 2017 as the surprise occult doom record of that year, while a follow up sophomore Of Blood and Wine was released on October 5th, 2018 with all the present, same intense moods and themes, but with even better songwriting and heavier riffs, all with a mind to create an album to sound for the ages.
After a very successful winter tour on 2017 with Swiss psych rock legends Monkey 3, the Necromancers took to the road for an European tour with Belzebong, kicking off with an album release show at le Cluricaune, in their hometown of Poitiers.
