Time Won't Let Me
The Outsiders Lyrics

I can't wait forever
Even though you want me to
I can't wait forever
To know if you'll be true
Time won't let me
Time won't let me
Time won't let me wait too long

Can't you see I've waited too long to love you
To hold you in my arms
Time won't let me
Time won't let me
Time won't let me aw
Oh

I can't wait forever
Even though you want me to
I can't wait forever
To know if you'll be true
Time won't let me
Time won't let me
Time won't let me wait that long
It won't let me wait that long
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)
(Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait that long)

These guys look they are having the time of their lives! A little self conscious, but that's the charm! "I can't believe we are getting to do this!"

So many great things about this song .......
The vocal harmony stacking at chorus end that melts into the sax and then a trumpet screech.
The clipped lead vocal, in nice contrast to the spread out harmonies.
The wonderfully supportive but understated horn arrangement.
The recurring lead guitar riff during the verses.
The out of control guitar solo.
The double timing drum changeover under the horn riffs during the ending fadeout!
Whoever produced this recording created a real gem!

@Denise Shouse Thank You Denise! Even thou I only komposed the bass part I were there in the studio playing on my Epiphone Bass on this tune , in the fall of 1965 --- and when we a couple days later hockd up with the eascoast maneger for Capitol records, who said over the phone, I think you guys have a hit record right there, things whent realy fast from then on. But before that we started out as The Starfires where we for 7 years prior to this layed the backbreaking ground work in clubs and bars.
