The Sick-Leaves is a rock artist from South Africa who has garnered two SA Music Award nominations (2007 for Tunnel Vision & 2009 for Stone the Crow).
Third album Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy was released in March 2010 with the album having been produced by renowned producer Darryl Torr at SABC's M5 studios.
The Sick-Leaves have racked up a bundle of radio play in the past two years on campus radio as well as on national radio station 5FM.
Notable live performances included playing the main stage at Oppikoppi in 2006 & 2009, Rocking the Daisies music festival, Synergy Live, Vrede Fest III as well as supporting some of SA’s top live acts, three MK Studio 1 and a GO TV unplugged TV performances.
Influences include: The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, Muse, The Who, The Shins, Interpol, Sons&Daughters, The Black Angels, The Beatles, The Kills, The Dandy Warhols, The White Stripes.
The Sick-Leaves song 'All These Foolish Things (I've said)' was used for the Rocking the Daisies radio & tv ad with the ad airing on national radio station 5FM and tv channels MK & Vuzu ahead of the festival.
The Sick-Leaves were nominated for a 2010 MK Award in the category of Best Animated SFX music video for the 'All These Foolish Things (I've said)' music video.
Missing, a cover of Everything but the Girl's 90's classic, reached the 94.7FM Highveld Homebrew SA TOP 10 No.1 in November 2008.
The first ever Sick-Leaves video was also made for this great song and it was directed by Jenna Bass and shot on location in Cape Town with the video being played on MK, MTV Base, SABC 2 & 3.
