Pretty sure this is my late husband Winston Grennan on drums. This was recorded when Lloyd Knibbs had gone off to work on a cruise ship. Same with much of the later Skatalites material. Winston used to perform this as part of his live set, up till the last year of his life.

Growing up in the 90's I bought a compilation with this song and it inspired me to create a street style Zine/EZine for Punk/Ska/and other Rockabilly, indie bands that I distributed at headshops, record stores, and tattoo & Piercing shops. I met and interviewed more bands than I can remember but getting to chill with Tim Armstrong and Matt Fredrickson of Rancid and Fletcher from Pennywise were some of the most memorable people I met that have left in impression on me that's still here today. I did all this before my 15th birthday, luckily I looked much older and had an older brother who looked like me who let me use his ID to get on the list for all the night clubs in Orlando during the late 90's... Learned to write, read people, negotiate deals, also how to drink/smoke and party responsibly and irresponsibly (lol). I just watched the Skatilites Play live last summer in St Louis Missouri, I'm wearing a Skatilites hoodie with "the rocket/bomb logo" right now that I picked up there... great show, at the end I made sure the oldest member in the band got thrown and gigantic joint I prerolled before going out (always take care of your entertainment! as you like them to take care of you right?)

@Dub Snapper Wow. Nice to know. Thanks for the bits!

And we are still grooving to the beat ~~~

The drumming here is incredible. I played along with this recording over and over when I joined a ska band who covers it, and was blown away (and humbled) every time. Big respect :)

No, not Winston Grennan on this, or on any other Skatalites recordings. Lloyd Knibb's cruise ship gig on Norwegian Cruise Lines MV Starward didn't begin till two years after the demise of the Skatalites in 1967.
