They recorded one single under the name of The Timelords, "Doctorin' the Tardis," which was a mash-up of the Dr. Who theme song, Blockbuster by The Sweet and Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter. The song was a number one hit in the UK in the summer of 1988. Instead of objecting to the mash-up, Gary Glitter wanted in, and a version of the song with his vocals added, "Gary in the Tardis," was released as well.
In 1989, the duo's tongue-in-cheek book The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way) was published.
