Consisting of members like; Michael Brodeur on guitar & lead vocals, Vanessa Drowning on guitar, vocals & keyboard, Rob Laakso on guitar & keyboard, Michael Cory on bass, and Ken Bernard on drums & keyboard.
Their first debut seven-inch single, Ken Theory was released under the Big Top Records label. Which introduced their intricate, droning Math Rock, dreamy Noise Pop & almost "collage rock" sound into the Math Pop scene that was beginning to form in California. Managing to stand out from the rest of its contemporaries by having the dreaminess of the Swirlies and the washed, noisy & ethereal sound of My Bloody Valentine.
The Wicked Farleys would go to Fort Apache's recording studio in Cambridge. Where other artists like Weezer & Dinosaur Jr. recorded at; and release their debut album; Sentinel And Enterprise. Released in March 17th of 1998. Followed by the Sustained Interest EP released in 1999, and their last album as a band & under the Big Top Records label, Make It It that same year before disbanding. It's worth noting that 5 months after Sentinel and Enterprises released, Big Top Records would dissolve on August 31st, 1998 (the label they've been apart of since Ken Theory).
After disbanding, Rob Laakso would be apart of other bands like [aritst]Diamond Nights & the Swirlies, and many other bandmates like Vanessa Drowning & Ken Bernard would have the chance to work on other projects after TWF's disbandment. Michael Brodeur would later be apart of the electronic band Certainly, Sir; & release music under the alias of New Dad. Michael Brodeur would eventually become a classical music critic for The Washington Post on March 3 of 2020.
Rob Laakso would pass away on May 4th of 2023.
