Song to the Siren
This Mortal Coil Lyrics

Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was forced out
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
For you sing, "Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow
Oh my heart, Oh my heart shies from the sorrow"

Well I'm as puzzled as the newborn child
I'm as riddled as the tide
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or should I lie with death, my bride?
Hear me sing, "Swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you
Here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you"

I played this song while my mom was dying. And then we played it again today at her funeral I'll forever love you Mom and Dad watch over me

@Lisa Corey You're right about that. Having lost my mom before I even was 30, I strangely like more of an 'adult' afterward. You take care of yourself as well! We'll all get through this one way or another... ;)

@impactfoto thank you for your concern. Was very kind of you. I'm sorry for your loss I know how hard it is. I was with my mom everyday for 55 years . I've been taking care of her off and on since 2003 and I took care of my dad in 2015 with leukemia before he passed. Life is never the same after you lose your parents. Hang in there take care and God bless and thank you again. ❤️

@Lisa Corey Sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. We all do at times. I lost my dad last year (at 87), and fortunately he was in good health most of his life. My mom passed much younger.. 26 years ago now. I hadn't lived with my parents since I moved away at 18, and I couldn't imagine losing someone you spent so much time caring for. Take care of yourself, and try to find someone to talk to if/when you need it. I'm sure there are still people out there that care about you.
