Tim Minchin is now a comedy musician with six CDs and three DVDs to his name, and worldwide renown for his comedic talent, but it all began here, with Timmy the Dog.
Tim's blog reports:
"Timmy the Dog’s one and only album “sit“ was recorded in my house in Subiaco, Perth by Gavin Tempany. The whole thing took three days. The basic band tracks were recorded “live” (ie not track-by-track), then horns, strings, vocals and extra bits were added. Gordo had chicken pox, so Danny Susnjar stepped in and had to learn everything in 2 days. Graeme Blevins plays sax, Ben Hodgkins is on trumpet, and the strings were provided by my cousin Lucy Fisher and her friends Jess Walker and Madelline Dawe. Backing vocals on Happy Boy were Karen Guy”s. It was mixed by Gavvy and I and eventually mastered by Lee Buddle at Sound Mine. All the design work on the original record (which no longer exists) was done by Neil Wurmel.
We launched the album at the Fly By Night Club in Fremantle in April 2001. It remains the funnest band gig I’ve ever played."
