He also was the touring lead vocalist for the band Apocalyptica and performed in both of its 2008 US Worlds Collide. In September 2008 Toryn announced he will begin working on his first lead role in a feature film in late 2008/early 2009.
Early life
Toryn was raised in Alaska, where he graduated from Colony High School.
Music career
Green played to thousands at a festival in Beijing in late 2005 with the band Something To Burn, and the band recorded " The Incinerator EP", which was released in April 2006. He once represented America in the Worldwide Battle of the Bands with STB held in Hong Kong. Green has also written and performed with another band entitled Patience Worth. Audio of his work with his previous bands is available on MySpace.
Hearing about the open website auditions for Fuel's new lead singer from a friend, Green recorded and submitted his version of the song "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" two hours after hearing about the audition. He co-wrote "Halos Of The Son" with Jeff Abercrombie and former "Patience Worth" bandmate, Ryan Giles, and released it on their album "Angels & Devils" 7, 2007.
On October 29, 2009 Green announced a new project on his MySpace. For 2009, he began collaborations with several co-writers, including Brian Vodinh of 10 Years and teamed up with the remnants of Long Island hard rockers A Farewell Fire (Eddie Racioppi, Mike Zagel, & Ray Rossler). With the musical core of AFF recently splitting with their singer, Green slid right into the lead vocal spot. Former Blameshift bassist Joe Meyer then joined the group, and thus "For The Taking" was born. Writing and rehearsals have been effortless and debut gigs in New York, Alaska, and Indiana have already begun. The band has continued writing and collaborating with a number of co-writers, including Corey Lowery of Eye Empire, Tommy Henriksen, and Skidd Mills. The debut record is expected to be released in 2011.
