Although further singles and an album followed, he did not repeat its success despite the quality of his singing and musicianship.
He continued performing and recording for local labels, and in 1988 made a cameo appearance in the John Waters film Hairspray, lip-syncing to his hit song.
McCall was inducted into the Northeast Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

Toussaint Mccall Lyrics
I'll Do It for You Say you want true love And true love I'll give…
In San Francisco I left my heart in San Francisco. High on a hill…
Nothing Compare To You I moved your picture From my walls And I replaced them Both …
Nothing Takes The Place Of You I moved your picture From my walls And I replaced them Both …
