Boogie 2Nite
Tweet Lyrics

Are you ready? Are you ready?
I hope you're ready
Are you ready? Cause I am
Said I'm ready to party yea

Grab your coat, get your keys
Cause whatever you're drinking
It's on me
Stay here if you want to, say what you want
But I gots to party, needs me a party
Came here to get ya, but I can't wait
To grab me a partner and cut a rug up 2nite

I found a place yea
Where we could boogie, boogie 2nite
I found a place yea
Where we could boogie, boogie 2nite

Are you ready?
Are you ready?
I know you're ready

Be ready here we are
Said we're off on the dance floor yea
Let me wet my throat, get 2 or 3
Then it's off to the dance floor
Follow me
Stand if you want to, stare if you want to
But I got to party, I'm up in the party
Glad that I got ya, and it's alright
You got you a partner, and cut a rug up 2nite

I found a place yea
Where we could boogie, boogie 2nite
I found a place yea
Where we could boogie, boogie 2nite

Dance cause you want to
Rock cause you have to
Cause ain't it a party
Sho 'nuff a party
Told you I had ya, and we just might
Find another party, and cut a rug up 2nite

I found a place yea
Where we could boogie, boogie 2nite

Come on now this tune still kicks in 2020!

J Greigh

Even more so
if not for the ironic lyrics

Silverarrow

Valyonga Absolutely! No one performs the song as good as Tweet as her voice and phrasing are great. However the DB Boulevard Mix is good too

This song should have been a single after "Oops" and her career would have been so different... Such a shame. This song is a banger.

Don't know if her career would have been different cuz the industry would have given her a hard time cuz she was dark-skinned, & Brandy & Meelah from 702 (the the other 2 girls in the group were light-skinned & "safe brown") were the only 2 dark-skinned female artist to make it really big & there is a lot of colorism in entertainment. On top of that, the industry mainly promotes over-sexualuzed, ratchet folk. Just look at all of these ratchet โœŒ๐ŸพrealityโœŒ๐Ÿพ shows. Tweet wasn't half-baked and sangin' bout fuck ๐Ÿ’ฉ. So I don't agree with your statement on the impact this song would have made on her career, but artistically, I agree it would have been a good choice as an alternative to "Call Me.". But I really wish she would have released "Complain" & "Motel" from that same album on the country charts. Her albums are so diverse within ea. one & I love ๐Ÿ’œ her for that
