Several more singles were released in the 1960s to some mild success. She left the music business in 1970, returning to recording and touring in 2002.
With some mild success with singles during the mid-late 1960s, Bunyan released the LP, Just Another Diamond Day, in 1970. This consisted of songs written while traveling in a horse drawn gypsy cart. Critics panned the album and a discouraged Vashti soon disappeared from the music scene. However, by the 2000s her work had finally been finding an audience among contemporary artists and fans of folk music.
In 2002, she was invited by Piano Magic musician Glen Johnson to sing guest vocals on his song "Crown of the Lost", her first recording in over 30 years. After guesting on Piano Magic's album 'Writers Without Homes', she released her critically-acclaimed second album, Lookaftering, 35 years after its predecessor.
In 2006 she collaborated with Adem and began to tour for the first time, accompanied by various musicians including Jo Mango and Gareth Dickson. She collaborated with Animal Collective on the Prospect Hummer EP. Vashti also sang with Devendra Banhart on his album Rejoicing in the Hands.
Bunyan's cover of the late John Martyn's "Head and Heart" appeared on the 2011 tribute album, Johnny Boy Would Love This...A Tribute to John Martyn.

I'd Like to Walk Around in Your Mind
Vashti Bunyan Lyrics
I'd like to walk around in your mind someday
I'd like to walk all over the things you say to me
I'd like to run and jump on your solitude
I'd like to rearrange your attitude to me
You say you just want peace and to never hurt anyone
You see the end before the beginning has ever begun
I would disturb your easy tranquillity
I'd turn away the sad impossibility of your smile
I'd sit there in the sun of the things I like about you
I'd sing my songs and find out just what they mean to you
But most of all I'd like you to be unaware
Then I'd just wander away, trailing palm leaves behind me
So you don't even know I've been there

This is a diary entry from Vashti Bunyan that I feel matches the mood of this song sort of.
"Crossing Rannoch Moor, Scotland. Late May 1969.
Our days went walking by with no other souls, just us and the dogs and Bess and the wagon. A barren landscape of heather and moss which for me held nothing but cold dread – all that sky-wide space and featureless misty horizon. Exposure.
As we stopped to rest, Robert saw a pile of rocks far across the moorland and decided he must go to visit it. I stayed with the dogs and Bess and the wagon as he set out. His figure became smaller and smaller until I thought he might just disappear – taken into the hidden fairy kingdom he had always wanted to find, never to emerge again, leaving me with my heartbeat and the dogs and Bess and the wagon to go back or go forward or – or what?
The road was so long, empty. But then – back in the distance – I saw a red dot. The dot became a car. A red mini. It flashed past me in a blink, reminding me how slowly we had been travelling, how our footsteps and hoof-beats were taking us along at just a human and horse’s pace.
I stood there – seemingly invisible, but the driver must have seen that strange little green wagon – with its red undercarriage and bright yellow wheels against the endless colourless moor. And the black horse, and the young woman waving in the middle of this great bare land. But there was for me no longed for waving back, or slowing down or ached for link with another human being. The mini became a small red dot again. Gone.
Fury rising. Why was I not in a car? A car with a good strong engine and a tank full of petrol, safe and insulated from the wilderness. Why were we making Bess do this? How ever did I come to be here, alone in the middle of wide open land under a never-endingly grey sky? With miles left behind me of urban and suburban roads, spring-green fields and lakes and familiar soft hills – with miles of unknown ahead all still to be trodden? Slow and steady pace wins the race? What was the sense in it?
I remember vividly that moment of doubt – and still don’t really know the answers."

Letra en español
Me gustaría caminar en tu mente algún día.
Me gustaría caminar por todas las cosas que me dices .
Me gustaría correr y saltar sobre tu soledad .
Me gustaría reorganizar tu actitud hacia mí .

Can you believe that her voice couldn’t find an audience back in the 70s? So Vashti left the music industry, what a great loss. Her voice just crawls into your heart and curls into itself, gently lying there.
Whose ears does not want to experience that?

Mine definitely doesn't want go not heat her voice, it's hauntingly beautiful. And side from the vibe, SB's backing instruments sound get vocals , the vinyl hiss is fun too

I used to sit in my backyard during sunset every evening with my cat Luca. As this song played, we would share whatever food I brought with us and I would laugh uncontrollably at how funny and happy the moment was. Some days I would hold Luca and just sit there and sing this. The sunset was beautiful, I felt alive, and I had my best buddy there with me everytime. They were some of the purest moments I've lived, and I can say this was even Luca's favorite song. I miss him. He passed away a few months ago, but I will always play this song to remember those last moments that I had with him. Lots of love for this song.

Sounds like TRUE bliss!

Gosh, I want a life like that. Pets are really something. Luca will be remembered forever now not just by you, but everyone who reads this lovely comment. Through the story, the song, and the memories themselves.
Frank Smith
Luca was a lucky boy. He loved this song, the sunsets and you.
