Critics initially described Velvet Revolver as a mere combination of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses, and criticized the band for a "disconnection" between Scott Weiland and the rest of the band. With their single Slither, they won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The band released Libertad in 2007, driven by the release of the single She Builds Quick Machines, and embarked on a tour with Alice in Chains. In April 2008, Weiland parted ways with Velvet Revolver and has since reunited with Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Revolver has been on indefinite hiatus since April and in November 2008, the band was released by their record label RCA Records at their request to allow them "complete freedom to go through whatever process it would take to accomplish" replacing Weiland.
The release of Slash's solo album, Slash, and Duff McKagan's addition to the Jane's Addiction lineup, as well as the suicide of Scott Weiland in 2015, has put the future of the band in doubt.
Although Velvet Revolver worked on new material and auditioned new singers following Scott Weiland's departure, the band has not released any new material and only performed publicly once since 2008, when they reunited with Weiland for a one-off reunion show on January 12, 2012 at a benefit concert. This proved to be their last performance together before Weiland's death on December 3, 2015. Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses.
On December 3, 2015, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus around 9 pm, one day before he was to perform in Minnesota with his band The Wildabouts. Both Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses

Velvet Revolver Lyrics
Hey
Hey
Hey
When you look you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
Fallen, broken every single time
Always keep me under finger
That's the spot where you would chew me
But I see sometime pleasure in my mind
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Hey
Hey
Hey
When you seek me you destroy me
Rape my mind and smell the poppy's
Fallen blood in every single time
Always keep me under finger
That's the spot where you might linger
But I see sometime the pleasure in my mind
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Like holy water
It only burns you faster than you'll ever dry
This time with me
When you look, you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
Falling and bloating every single time
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Like holy water
It only burns you faster than you'll ever dry
This time with me
Hey
Hey
Hey

THAT is what truly makes life beautiful and livable; EXTREMELY RARE GEM of a TRUE INDIVIDUAL.
I say this because most tend to get this all too wrong, most people make the mistake of thinking that they are all obligated to be a carbon copy of society's expectations; i.e. gotta join the whole rat race, follow a God/church, become a 9-5 slave, learn everything exactly the same way everyone else does. But what does one gain from being just another run-of-the-mill gerbil on a hamster wheel???
...BOOO!!!
That's so LAME! SO mediocre and SO VERY boring!
People listen to me, Im telling you, be RARE, be creative, be ONE-OF-A-KIND.
But most importantly, BE EXCEPTIONAL.
Have the courage to be different, especially if no one likes it. Because it's ONLY the ones who are unique that are the ones who are remembered.

My girl passed away in June this year. She loved this song because of the guitars. I play this as tribute to her everyday. Dont let depression get you guys. Always someone there for you.
