After a series of failed grade school bands, they set about creating their own musical project. In 2003, while recording what would become the opening tracks of their first album, the two found that they'd each like to produce their own songs with the other acting as a bounce-board, studio musician, and brain-trust.
Two friends. Two bands. Nick leads Wilderness Survival. Shane leads Cosmo Speedway. With this unique solution, the pair has continued to make 8 records in their own self-made recording vacuum.
Taking cues from a variety of musical influences and instruments. The pair has experimented with several different genres of music. Compare the female vocals of Hypnotized to the dramatic electronic stabs of Rio Bravo. The fast, feel good synth drenched, I’m The One to the sparse Kellyowl4.Â
Although they’ve never played live, given notable interviews, or signed with a record label, the band has gained a loyal underground following based on their unique songs.Â
