I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Thanks for sharing the score. It's fascinating to hear pre-Baroque chord progressions in full orchestration rather than the sparse ensembles one usually hears with this type of music. It's enough to make me wonder how classical music might've developed if this style had taken hold and been expanded upon instead of the more formal Baroque rules that paved the way for all the music that came later.

+GMJ7 Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your comment! I find this kind of arrangement quite appealing, and I would sure love to hear more like this. The keyboard score for the gigue was hard to find on imslp, but I was glad to have finally found it in a 300+ pages compilation of Renaissance music. :)

I like how this arrangement sounds like it could be part of the soundtrack to a silent film set in Tudor England.

Viola Bear

Beautiful and so musically well performed.

somehow i would think i'm listening to grieg had I known this wasn't grieg. Its the timbre and legato that gives away my first impression

If it wasn't for the title, I would think this was Bartok
