Young the Giant Lyrics
Life's too short to even care at all oh
I'm losing my mind losing my mind losing control
These fishes in the sea they're staring at me oh oh oh oh oh oh
A wet world aches for a beat of a drum, oh
If I could find a way to see this straight, I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by now
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down, come down
Life's too short to even care at all oh
I'm coming up now coming up now out of the blue oh
These zombies in the park they're looking for my heart oh oh oh oh
A dark world aches for a splash of the sun oh oh
If I could find a way to see this straight, I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by now
And so I run to the things they said could restore me
Restore life the way it should be
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down
Life's too short to even care at all oh
I'm losing my mind losing my mind losing control
If I could find a way to see this straight, I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by now
And so I run to the things they said could restore me
Restore life the way it should be
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down
One more spoon of cough syrup now whoa
One more spoon of cough syrup now whoa

Life's too short to even care at all,
I'm losing my mind losing my mind losing control.
These fishes in the sea they're staring at me,

To some fortune that I should have found by now.
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down, come down.

this song's melody makes me think about the color yellow whenever i hear it. a mustardy yellow that's just so happy and beautiful, it's one of my favourite colors. i created a playlist on Spotify called mustard yellow and i added this song in there, not paying that much attention to the lyrics, because the melody was just happy, like me.
one day i was sad. i deal with mental health issues and that day was specially rough. and i heard this song. and i actually paid attention to the lyrics. and they're so blue. this dark, kinda teal blue, that is not too bright but not too opaque, just a sad, melancholic blue that just feels nice. that makes me want to swim in an ocean and get lost and just never come back. which is my first favourite color, right before yellow.
i am a big music lover and I've never had, in my 22 years of life, a song that i could call my favourite.
until now.

I have diagnosed depression and anxiety and sometimes what harms me the most is actually blocking my feelings. It's incredible how this particular song actually helps me to feel and deal with whatever it is that I'm going through. I can not even measure in words how much this song means to me. Jeeee
Alaa Moosa
To combat depression I advise you to listen to quran. Try it.

Feel your feels, because they are real. Your feelings are neither good or bad. It's how we behave and the choices we make that matter. Depression is such a heavy blanket. Give yourself some grace.

There's this song I'm obsessed with that for someone who has been depressed from a young age I could relate to. When I have trouble explaining why I'm off on a particularly bad day I go to the song. The first few lions explain it pretty well " I've been trying to forget/someone I can't ignore/he lies heavy in my bed/ and wakes me up when he's bored" and the chorus is pretty obvious saying "there's no way out" as that's how you feel. For me, I have moderate depression and severe anxiety caused by ptsd so I can battle it, take meds, and talk to people but I'll never fully be healed. There truly is no way out....anyway the song is Circles by Jack Garrett. I think you may like it
