I change the world, I wanna change the world (ooh, ooh ooh)
Non è così che passo i giorni, baby
Come stai?
Sei stata lì e adesso torni, lady
Hey, con chi stai?
Io sto qui e guardo il mare
Sto con me, mi faccio anche da mangiare
Sì, è così, ridi pure
Ma non ho più paure di restare
Senza una donna
Come siamo lontani
Senza una donna
Sto bene anche domani
Senza una donna
Che m'ha fatto morir
Senza una donna
È meglio così
Non è così che puoi comprarmi, baby
Tu lo sai
È un po' più giù che devi andare, lady
(Al cuore?) Yeah
Se ce ne hai
Io ce l'ho, vuoi da bere?
Guardami, sono un fiore
Beh, non proprio così, ridi pure
Ma non ho più paure di restare
Senza una donna
Come siamo lontani
Come siamo lontani
Senza una donna
Sto bene anche domani
Senza una donna
Che m'ha fatto morire
Senza una donna
Vieni qui, come on here
Senza una donna
Ora siamo vicini
Senza una donna
Sto bene da domani
Senza una donna
Che m'ha fatto morir (ooh)
"Senza Una Donna" is a beautiful love song sung by Zucchero that explains the pains of a man who is trying to get back with his ex-girlfriend. The song opens with the protagonist explaining that he is a changed man and has changed the world. The lines "I changed the world, I changed the world (ooh, ooh) I changed the world, I want to change the world" suggest the desire of the protagonist to have his ex-girlfriend back in his life. However, the protagonist seems to have come to terms with his reality and understands that he cannot force anyone to be with him.
The protagonist then asks his ex-girlfriend about her new lover by singing "What's he like?" and goes on to explain that he spends his days alone by the ocean, cooking for himself. Despite the loneliness, the protagonist is not frightened of living anymore. This newfound courage is attributed to the absence of his ex-girlfriend in his life.
The chorus of the song "Senza una donna No more pain and no sorrow Senza una donna I'll make it through tomorrow Senza una donna Givin' me torture and bliss Without a woman Better than like this" stresses the importance of self-love and being independent to be happy. Despite the hurt and pain, being alone is better for the protagonist than being with a woman who brings him both torture and bliss.

I changed the world, I changed the world (ooh, ooh)
I made a big impact on the world, and I want to continue doing so
This ain't the way I spend my mornings, baby
This is not how I usually spend my mornings, darling
Come stai?
How are you doing?
You've been with him now you come back, my lady
You've been with another man, and now you're coming back to me, my dear
What's he like?
What is he like as a person?
I just sit and watch the ocean
I just sit here and contemplate nature
By myself, even do my own cookin'
I enjoy being alone and can even take care of myself
You can laugh and you're forgiven but
You can laugh at me, and I'll forgive you, but
I'm no longer frightened to be livin'
I'm no longer scared of living life
Senza una donna
Without a woman
No more pain and no sorrow
There won't be any more pain or sadness
I'll make it through tomorrow
I'll be able to get through tomorrow
Givin' me torture and bliss
Bringing both pain and pleasure
Better than like this
It is better than being in this current situation
Yeah, there is no way that you can buy me, baby
There is no way you can purchase me, my dear
Don't make fun
Don't mock me
You got a dig, a little deeper, lady
You need to look a little further, woman
In the heart, yeah, if you have one
In your heart, if you have one
Here's my heart, feel the power
Here is my heart, feel the strength it has
Look at me, look at me, I'm a flower
Look at me; I am delicate and beautiful like a flower
I stay here and watch the ocean
I remain here and observe the sea
Don't know why, don't know why, I keep on talkin'
I'm not sure why, but I keep talking
You may laugh, you're forgiven but
You may laugh, and I'll forgive you, but
I'm no longer frightened, maybe, to be livin'
Maybe I'm no longer scared of living life
Vieni qui, come on in
Come here, come on in
I don't know what might follow
I don't know what's going to happen next
Oh but maybe from tomorrow
But maybe starting tomorrow
Givin' me torture and bliss, please (ooh)
Bringing both pain and pleasure, please

My mum was one of the backing singers for this song. She sadly passed away from covid before Christmas and requested this at her funeral. Rest in peace mum 💛❤

Isn't it crazy when sometimes we listen to a song that we haven't heard in a long time and remember exactly what life was like at that moment.
