While still in elementary school, his classmates would rhythmically beat on their desks with pens and pencils. Qa'dir soon picked up this talent and has stated that he had become "the best" at this skill. Qa'dir then began to write to these beats and started reciting his lyrics in class. It was this that sparked his interest in Hip Hop.
In 5th grade while watching a movie from the 'Dragon Ball Z' franchise, Qa'dir heard a "rock song" that he enjoyed. The song turned out to be "I Stand Alone" by American alternative metal band Godsmack. Vyrotek stated that it was this song that got him interested in listening to rock music. In 8th grade (2009) Qa'dir formed his first rock band, but the band broke up when they lost contact after graduation. A year later Qa'dir was asked to join as lead singer to another band who were known as The Drowned, but later changed their name to Intepra after Qa'dir insisted the name be changed due to a British band already using the prior title. Intepra made one EP but it was never released. The band then struggled to find and keep a steady guitarist, this caused many arguments for the band, and Qa'dir split due to artistic differences. Qa'dir then joined another band but the project only lasted a month when the members felt that Qa'dir was not fit for the band. After struggling to find another band, Qa'dir decided to go solo as a metal artist under the name Lord Vyrotek. The 'Lord' was later dropped when a friend recommended it because it "made it sound like a villains name in a cartoon." Qa'dir recorded multiple demos under the Vyrotek alias but they were never released, instead they were passed out to friends at his high school.
In 2012 Qa'dir released a 24 minute EP again under the Vyrotek alias titled "I'm Just Different." The EP was a commercial failure, but it has since sold over 100 downloads. Later that year, due to the popularity of one track off the I'm Just Different release titled Feeling Alone, Vyrotek was ranked 5th best new rapper of 2012 by internet publication Massive Music Entertainment, Kendrick Lamar ranked #1 on the same list. After his I'm just different release, Qa'dir began working on another release titled American Youth, under a new alias, Qa'dir Vyrotek. American Youth is almost finished and a release date has not been set but there are songs posted over the internet that pose as previews on what to expect from the album.
