The lyrics to 織井茂子's song 君の名は speak of a person who is searching for someone they met before but whose name they do not know. The person goes to a sand dune alone and asks a flower called Hamano-higotae (beach cypress) if it knows the name of the person they are looking for. The song then moves on to reminiscing about a bridge from the past, one that was crossed on a night full of memories, and how the memories of that night continue to linger in their heart. They express a longing for Tokyo, and the things that come with it such as the night fog in the city. The song ends by depicting pearls of tears from a sea-woman as she looks at the full moon shining over the sea, with the wistful sound of a night whistle.
The song addresses the unrelenting and seemingly eternal nature of memories, and how they can be very bittersweet. The singer wants to be reunited with someone they met before but at the same time, they cherish the memories they have of that night, which makes it both a challenging and a rewarding moment in their life.

｢君の名は｣は昭和28年から約１年間、毎週１回、夜の８時半から３０分間､
NＨKラジオ第一放送で放送された ｢連続放送劇｣ です。出演者は映画とは全く違い、主人公の 真知子を演じたのは 阿里道子(あり･みちこ) さんと言う声優さんです。
主題曲を歌ったのは昭和４０年代までのあの名歌手織井茂子さんです。
あなたはお母様とよく聴いていたと言うのに、あの織井さんを全く知らないのですか？あれほど番組の中で毎回歌われ、アナウンサーは毎回歌手名を紹介していたのに。また、｢紅白｣ をはじめラジオの歌番組で毎回美声を披露(ひろう)されていたのに、織井さんを知らなかったんですか？テレビは一般家庭には全くない時代ですよ。
放送時間帯は街の銭湯の女湯が空っぽになることは、後年(こうねん) トップさんが言う前から、放送されているそのときから、ウワサとして上がっていたのに、それも知らなかったんですか？
お母様と一緒に本当に聴いていたなら私と同世代でしょう。我々は以上述べたことは放送されていた、まさにオンタイムでみな知っていました。

何年か前にアニメの君の名はが流行った時に、昔は映画で君の名はという映画があった、という話をしたら誰も信じなかったのは非常に悲しかったです。

これ笑えますねーそのおじいちゃん逆にラッドの前前前世知ってるんすかスッゲエてお孫さんが返したら面白い。うちの親は８０代 こちらの君の名は映画見た口ですが2016年アニメの方もテレビでみててまったくきれいなまるで実物のような映像だなあと感心して観ていました

あと50年もすれば新しい『君の名は』が作られるかもしれない…勿論、見られないが。
