I first heard of this back in 1987 or 1988, it was one of the most refreshing Instrumentals I have ever heard! It took me me to another world of pure sunlight, harmony, and peace. Much needed when I was going through tough times in highschool. Helped me avoid negative activities and focus on my chosen subject: Metallurgy!

You've managed to put into words what I've felt for 36 years. I too heard it for the first time on what was then a new age station just started in LA. I immediately felt as though the world around me had disappeared and a hopeful peace came over me. I don't know how else to describe it. As for the music itself, the guitars sounded so clean for the first time, the bass line supported the reggae beat and the drum fills were a new sound. Mr, Chow is still a crowd favorite and was the closing song at AA's show recently. Red Dust and Spanish Lace remains one of my all time favorite albums.

....for years, from the '90s into the '00s, I heard this on 103.9 WNND in Raleigh....never knew who it was until a couple of years ago ('14)....one of my all-time favorite instrumentals.....funny thing about that radio station though....it was a relatively popular station but, apparently, too many people listened to it as only "background" music and the advertisers pulled their spots, citing a lack of response to their ads.....or something like that.....

the first time i heard this song was on wssm 106.5 fm. great song,great station, and the sad part about this is i can no longer listen to this station any more. they pulled it and put some kind of hip-hop junk in its place. so sad, thank goodness that i have a computer so i can listen to this and other great songs. i grew up listening to all kinds of music, all except rap,hip-hop and punk-rock.rap and hip-hop are not music! what a shame.

I couldn't agree with you more. This one song is better then every rap or hip hop "song" ever made. That so many of those mutts have made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame completely freaks me out. But then again, Donald Trump is the President, so the world has turned completely upside down.
