Yes and no....the song brings back the memories and not the person, but the memories are just as important as the person. Every single person that comes into your life will influence you in one way or another, some people more than others. Those who we have romantic attachment towards carry special significance even long after they leave us. I can speak for myself in saying that I dedicate this song to someone special in my past, because she taught me that there is someone out there for me. Even though it ultimately wasn’t her in the end and she’s long gone (I doubt she even remembers me), I haven’t forgotten that lesson she taught me, even now that over a decade has passed and I thank her for that. This song reminds me of my time with her, but more importantly the lesson I learned from her. Even though she wasn’t my only exception, I’ve learned from her that there is an only exception out there for me. I think of what we went through and even though we may have needed to go our separate ways, there’s no reason to believe that what I went through with her can’t happen again. I remember hearing this song the day it came out because the girl I was in love with at the time was a huge paramore fan. We were talking over skype and I remember just feeling so crazy about her while we listened to this together and wishing she felt the same way again. I never listened to Paramore until I met the first girl whom conquered my love.
