Fahey composed and recorded avant-garde/neo-classical compositions using traditional country blues fingerpicking techniques, which had previously been used primarily to accompany vocals. Other famous early proponents were Leo Kottke, Robbie Basho and Peter Lang who all played at one time or another on Fahey's Takoma Records label.

For decades John Fahey has been an extremely brilliant guitarist. His range is insane - one of my forever favorites . Thanks for the clean load. Hopefully the people will begin to listen. Peace...

Thank you, Awka Dan, for all of these Fahey uploads.

This is actually a wrong word split, the correct one is "bed maker", making the sentence mean "Jesus is the one who made my dying bed", and appearing on the album cover. For years I thought the song is about Jesus who is some bed manufacturer who is currently dying.
@je7647
he says it like this title when he's introducing the song live. it makes perfect sense if english was your first language, I totally understand the confusion though.
@chichipato3
I always thought this was about Jesus being a hard working carpenter LOL
@stevejeske2266
This is from Psalm 41:3. Jesus is by my side at my deathbed tending to me and making my bed.

He couldn't cut it with the fitted sheet! It was too much for him.
