Callin' Your Name
Hank Williams III Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've been up all night and I can't sleep
I've been thinkin' about you and I can't eat

I tried to go outside, but it strarted to rain
And I'm sittin' here in tears callin' your name

Callin' your name O Lord, I need you now
I didn't know how far I was driftin' out

It's been so hard livin' all alone
I need ya this time - Lord, please can ya give me a home

It's been so hard these last few years without you
I've been wild and I didn't have a care
I've caused myself so much sorrow
So I'm callin' this time - can I be saved

Callin' your name O Lord, I need you now
I didn't know how far I was driftin' out

It's been so hard livin' all alone
I need ya this time - Lord, please can ya give me a home

I'm calling this time - Lord, please can ya give me a home

Some of the most devout people you could ever meet are reformed hell raisers. I'd go as far as to say some of the best true Christians I ever met had one hell of a wild streak in them at some point in their lives.

I feel like this a lot with my walk with God. Hank 3 and his grandfather both have a way of describing how I feel. At least with some songs. I don't need any woman or any friends, I just wish the good lord would take care of my depression. The doctor says I'm empathetic and that brings me down a lot, also explains why I can feel the pain in Hanks voice. I just can't get enough of this kind of music.
