Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, author, poet, and painter, who has been a major figure in popular music for five decades. Much of Dylan's most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when he became an informal chronicler and a reluctant figurehead of American unrest. A number of his songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'", became anthems of both the civil rights movements and of those opposed to the Vietnam War. Bob Dylan Lyrics
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall'
You thought they were all kidding you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh you've gone to the finest schools, alright Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you're gonna have to get used to it
You say you never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
A complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ah you never turned around to see the frowns
On the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To have you on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh princess on a steeple and all the pretty people
They're all drinking, thinking that they've got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal
How does it feel, ah how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

@Soul Vaccination You have fantastic taste in Music, my friend.
Are you familiar with/a fan of:
Sam Cooke, Big Star, The Band, Jeff Buckley, Tom Waits, The Verve, Bill Withers, Fred Neil, U2, Fiona Apple…?
And since you named Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”—Have you heard his Album “In The Groove” (Sometimes known as ‘Heard It Through The Grapevine’)?
Imho, that’s not only-one of the most underrated Albums ever — I think it’s one of the Greatest Soul/R&B Albums of All Time.
It’s like the ‘Rubber Soul of R&B’. It is a perfect, cohesive, Collection of “Pop Songs”, and was that Genre’s “turning point”; where, ‘Records’ became ’Albums’.

I don’t know how that song isn’t as popular as some of his other ‘Classics’.
I think that’s one of the best R&B Songs ever made.

@Jay Corby Read your comment about Dylan & the Beatles rising in popularity…
It sounds like it must have been so cool to be around back then! I was in marketing for 10 years before I quit because it’s a snake oil field and I’m an honest person. When I researched generations, I found that your Generation actually mirrors the Millennials, and that’s typical. The generations seem to repeat in an on-off kind of pattern.
You were the boomers, then we had Gen X which was the generation where most wives were working and kids were raised by MTV, then we had the Millenials that broke the mold, and now we have Gen Z - who are more traditional.
The difference between the Millennials and the Boomers, I think, is that the Millenials are rebels without a cause…and the Boomers really did have a cause.
You guys redefined the way the public views the government forever. Without you, we would have all been screwed, because we would have all been blind to how evil and corrupt they are.
Thank god for your generation 🙏

I remember as a kid this song would get played over the radio and my dad would sing along, my dad has been gone for past 40 years but it's the music that keeps the memories alive.
