The singer in the song is describing the arrival of the mayor, who seems to be a pompous and arrogant man. Despite his unappealing appearance, he claims to have come to "reign" over this tribe of Babbà and impose some order in the "dirty jungle". As he struggles to climb onto a high platform to address the crowd, he notices some children playing "shadow puppets" and the singer observes some advertising messages among the frogs and crocodiles in the background.
The mayor is welcomed by the tribe, but they soon realize that he has made a mistake in identifying them as the Babbà. The Gnam Gnam tribe, who are cannibals and eat anything that moves, are actually the hosts. They take a photo with the mayor to send to the Babbà as well as one for their recipe book. The song ends with the catchy chorus, "We are cannibal family, and smile because an ad will come."
