You're messin' 'round all the time
Baby, please stop messin' 'round
You're messin' 'round all the time
Now, if you don't stop messin' 'round
You'll be somebody's baby 'stead of mine, yeah
I want you to squeeze a-me, baby, 'til my face turns cherry red
You roll me so hard, baby, I'm fallin' out of bed, now
Please stop messin' 'round
Messin' 'round all the time
And if you don't stop messin' 'round
Be somebody's baby instead of mine
The song "Stop Messin' Round" by Fleetwood Mac is a plea to a lover to stop playing games and messing around all the time. The lyrics convey the singer's frustration with their partner's constant irresponsibility and inability to commit fully to the relationship. The line "if you don't stop messin' round, you'll be somebody's baby 'stead of mine" suggests a fear of losing their lover to someone else who can offer them more stability and fidelity. The singer also expresses their desire for physical affection from their partner, asking them to "squeeze a-me, baby, 'til my face turns cherry red" and lamenting that they roll them so hard they're falling out of bed.
Overall, "Stop Messin' Round" is a passionate and desperate plea for love and commitment from a partner who has been acting flippant and careless. It's a classic blues rock song that packs a punch with its straightforward lyrics and driving guitar riffs.

Every single note that came through the pick-up of Greeny's guitar came from the soul. His playing was majestic.

This was one of my favorites by your band. I met you all in the summer of 1969 when my band was booked on a New Year's Rock Party television show being filmed in July or August, to be aired the coming new year. The Troggs were also on the show. It was the five of you and you were sensational. You played this one and destroyed the room with "I Need Your Love So Bad". I believe a couple of our band mates showed some of you around Paris the following day. Not more than a year later I saw you at the Whiskey and heard "Oh Well" for the first time. Peter was in superb form on both occasions, and you were right there with him. Those were exciting days. Thank you for the memories.

Whether its a sad, happy, fast, slow, song... Peter Green never fails to put a smile on my face with his guitar playing.
@stoffe2
This is in my opinion one of Green's best blues songs. Just listen to his completely individual and melodic guitar phrasing.

Peter Green one of my all time heroes.Beautiful true tone and voice for blues.

He's got a real raspy blues voice as well as being one of the most underrated brilliant guitarists of the century. Green and Clapton all the way.

Peter is "blacker" BB King said "He had the sweetest tone I ever heard, it gave me the cold sweats" this is live, which always separates the men from the boys. They did something I never heard of, they bought their PA system into the main room in the studio and had vocals, horns, piano all bleed through the mics, they did 4 takes, this was the 4th take. . i love his call and answer phrasing with his vocal and his guitar. He let's it breath and it "swings" .... of the less is more school.
