I just successfully weened my mother off of methadone using Kratom. She is acting ALIVE for the 1st time in over 15 years. She’s acting like her old happy self. This is heartbreaking to me. This native tree that has so many medicinal benefits and is so abundant in Thailand, and the hardworking Thai people fear arrest for chewing the leaves. Barbi Button and don’t leave out the damn insurance companies! Both would be in a world of hurt if people used this instead of their cash cows....OxyContin, Opana, Percocet, Norco, or the ones they use to get off heroin and opiates...suboxone, Methadone.
Also some people could possibly eliminate anti-depressants and/or anti-anxiety. Those meds are extremely important to both big Pharma and insurance!
I’m not saying it works for everyone and I’m not saying anyone should stop taking their meds...maybe this is a boost for them or maybe they replace. The only drawback is the lack of regulation in preparing it.

Had my wisdom teeth taken out almost 5 years ago now, got a prescription for hydrocodone and in the 4 years following that I destroyed myself with opioid use. Started using kratom almost a year ago now and have seen major improvements in myself that I did not believe were possible. Great for energy. Just look up the different strains, they have different effects. It’s also different between people. But if you’re not an addict currently, don’t use kratom. @Jeff Andrews TV I mean, you can totally get all of that from kratom. But you have to ask yourself, are you strong enough to quit, or are you willing to accept it as a part of your life from now on. Because you become very dependent on the stuff. It works well though. I decided since I wrote that comment that I would rather be on kratom than any of the crap doctors want to prescribe. It brings me the energy and motivation when I need it in the mornings, and works as a mood stabilizer/enhancer. Helps regulate my appetite. It is my magic pill. I rode a motorbike through Surat Thani province. This is just how I remember it. Lots of rubber and palm oil plantations, and it was so hot I almost passed out. I visited a huge bat cave in the jungle. Didn't try kratom but I did enjoy some local fruit. I believe Thailand had legalized kratom. I really miss that country.

As far as Kratom, i would bet it is illegal because the very wealthy corporations have a monopoly on kratom. They don't want rogue farmers causing a price fluctuation. I'm sure corporations have bought up the entire Kratom industry just like they've bought up every other industry on this planet.

Edit: come to find out the reasons for prohibition on Thailands kratom is far more sinister. Kratom was made illegal in the early 1940's to prevent the Thai people from having a powerful remedy to curb their opiate addiction. During the 1940's the Thai government made a substantial portion of its money from the illegal sale of opiates. Each Thai opiate addict represented a significant amount of $ towards the Thai governments revenue stream, so they didnt want their people quiting. Plus, when you factor in the exportation of kratom and the potential ability for addicts outside of Thailand to quit with the aid of kratom, in their didgustingly greedy minds kratom possed a substantial threat.

I feel for those farmers and their families. What they are growing helps people and it puts food on the table for the farmers (not to mention the vendors and shippers)

I'm a terminal patient with an extremely painful disease. I use kratom on my worst days in addition to my pain management and it really help me. I use a mix of reds. I don't use it daily, just on the extremely bad days. It helps immensely.

I was sober for 90 days but now I take kratom everyday and it works amazingly and never have a craving for other drugs. I have a special relationship with kratom

I used to stay over on the weekends and some weeknights and I would sit at the table and eat with the family while he sat infront of the tv/computer screen with his plate of food getting cold next to him.
In 8th grade I started spending more time with my girlfriend and hamham came up to me with an envelope that had $8,000 in it and said he wanted to give it to me if I spent the summer hanging out with his dad so he could get some work done online and not have to go fishing with his dad.
I accepted but not just for the money but his dad is a great father.
Me and his dad spent the money at an amusement park in the north called kings mountain, we got a camp site on the lake resort and went to the amusement park every day for a week.
First time I ever drove a wave runner too.

The only reason it was illegalized in Thailand is because the Thai Govt was taxing the opium trade at the time, and they found out people were using kratom leaves to get off opium. So they banned it to raise money for the government. They are in the process of legalizing it but their law system is far different than the US system, so it will likely take years.

This stuff is amazing. I was on pain management for 22 YEARS and decided to get to off a huge dose of morphine and Percocet cold turkey. Took some kratom and had ZERO withdrawals! I now take kratom once or twice a week with no withdrawals or problems. I think you have to take a huge amount for a long time to actually get hooked on kratom, as I've had no problems over the last 4 months.

Pressol I took it regularly for a year and then just stopped because the amount needed to help with pain was too much for my stomach to tolerate. I had no problems stopping kratom at all. I switched to medical mj and am really happy with the pain relief results.

Pressol I ordered powder and pressed my own capsules to cut down on the taste. But I was taking about a tablespoon per dose. It would sit in my stomach and once the capsules dissolved, even with food, I'd often get sick 🤢🤢. I think it was all the stuff just sitting in my stomach. I absolutely could not take it on an empty stomach, which is what is recommended for pain relief 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I have severe pain and chronic fatigue I've been taking Kratom for about a year-and-a-half now. I recently discovered how kratom is handled harvested and dried and that there is no such thing as different strains as we are led to believe the color comes from the drying or fermenting process. Tell you this I rely on it everyday and I really don't want to take it now after learning how it's handled. The only real Hazard I see with kratom is the unsanitary conditions of its production if anyone gets sick or dies from Kratom it's because of that not because of the alkaloids.

That said if anyone grows kratom in the United States organically or has successfully grown it please let me know as I'm interested in cutting out the hundreds of dirty hands,feet, animals, insects, mold/ bacteria etc. contacting the product that I consume.

I have gotten my bloodwork done twice a year for past 5 years, always healthy. I started taking Kratom for 4 months prior to my last bloodwork. My AST was at 45. My ALT and AST have always been healthy. I can guarantee you that it was the Kratom. My diet has always been the same but this time I stop drinking alcohol 2 months prior to bloodwork, which made it more convincing it was the Kratom.. Its worse on the liver than when I was drinking.

I've been taking kratom for the past month. It's really great. It's amazing how much it has helped me with stress and pain relief. About a half hour after taking it you notice you are much more comfortable. Kind of like traditional opioids but I wouldnt describe it as a high. Your mind is more at ease and you stop worrying about things and are able to focus on what you need to be focused on. It's great for someone who has anxiety all the time like me. It really works and it works way better than CBD does.

As much good Kratom can do to improve your life, I feel like THC is better because it gives me great insight on my life, helps me lose weight the lazy way (seriously lol), helps me with stress, moderate my alcohol cravings, and makes me happy on a crappy day. Arthur I feel slight withdrawal symptoms but they are minor. Exercise usually helps if necessary. It is important to identify addiction symptoms like that and to not feed into them. By that I mean, never allow yourself to get to that point. Take it for a few days then take a break. Too much of anything can be addicting. The actual chemical addiction is far less than prescription medications so with some self discipline it is easy to navigate.

man, I take kratom every day. This was slightly informative, I'd like to see the whole ep. Anyways, Kratom is great, helped me at work and by not feeling groggy all the time, but using it all the time killed my creative ambitions. Any drugs or plants that hook you like the opiate influenced ones are worth regulating, but making the substance illegal and incriminating all the people who use it is very wrong. Don't go cold turkey. I did that and I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks basically. Restless leg syndrome is a common withdrawal symptom. I suffered from that. It was awful.

Iv been able to reduce my Alprazolam intake whilst using Kratom. I prefer the Red Thai strain for pains and anxiety. Usually around the 7-10gram mark works for me.

Im on my 15th day with no oxycontin because of Kratom. First 4 days i took 24 grams next 2 days i took 18 grams then down to 14 for a couple of days and for the last few days ive been having 5 gram twice a day. It hasnt been a walk in the park but nothing compared to withdrawl from the oxys as ive been able to sleep i havent threw up once. Only thing thats annoying is my temperature is going haywire hot and cold chills all the time but theyre getting fewer and further apart. Ive been using cannabis for the pain i was taking the oxycontin for and its actually helping unlike the oxys because id been on them that long i was taking them only to stop withdrawl as they stopped treating the pain long ago.

I had high hopes for his episode, but it did nothing for the American community of Kratom, they need to make a American doc about this drink and the community around it, and show the world what we are like, and the reasons we use this, for anything from pain to a non-alcoholic lifestyle, I was in hopes that this episode would educate the public with a real possible influence on the FDA, this episode just might even hurt out community.......

okay.. how would it hurt the legality of it? Hamilton's not trying to sway people's opinions with this content. He's simply conveying information. The FDA doesn't schedule drugs based on public perception when It comes to safe and effective plants/substances. It decides solely based off whether or not it cuts into the profits of companies that fund them. I hope it changes soon because right now money incentives control the policy

I used Green Kratom to treat a slow-healing back injury. I used it daily dosing every 5 hours. I didn't realize how deep a hook it had until I went cold turkey. After 26 hours I started to understand this was going to get worse before it got better. If I could sleep that would be one thing but I knew I wasn't going to be doing any of that for days to come. So I dosed back up and figured out a detox regimen. I reduced intake by half a gram every 10 days which eliminated the difficulties of detox.

Injured back and was starting to wonder what kind of work I might do facedown, bedridden and motionless until I tried kratom. Now work everyday and am 98% pain free on very low doses that I don't feel any debilitating "buzz" effect from. Thank goodness for kratom, I was looking at a terrible future. I for sure have a "habit" that my body would miss briefly, but I just keep my dose in check, and tapering back down is not anything like the nightmare of real opiates. And without so many of the other opiate side effects, I don't have to do it very often, anyway. Great plant, life saver.

My 22 year old son Matthew Joseph Eller died from kratom toxicity on November 10, 2021. The package of kratom contains no serious warnings so he thought it was a safe herbal remedy. He wasn’t taking street drugs nor prescription drugs per his toxicology results. He had a seizure, went into cardiac arrest & died.

I have had very mild seziure like reaction to a green strain and had a massive headache for a few days. Otherwise, buying from a good site has been beneficial.

How much did he take? Taking it sparingly , one shouldnt have much side effects aside from upset stomach, prone to anger/mood swings or headache.

I use kratom( the red horn strain) before going to bed. Its very relaxing and helps me rest especially during days that I don't work. I just dont see how it is viewed negative since it doesn't harm you or impair you in any way like other shit.. I see kratom like anything people enjoy using like coffee, cbd, weed, herbs, teas, melatonin, even nicotine etc.. I just don't see the difference in the damn issue.

While Kratom definitely has it’s benefits for healing, helping addicts wean off of their drugs, and medicinal properties, it is still not as safe as you think. I’ve seen and heard stories of a lot of people that take Kratom for it’s medicinal properties, end up abusing it and being addicted to it. Some people have been hospitalized and went into seizures. Please, be careful with any substance and do your research before you jump into something, this thing is no joke or walk in the park.

Everyone talks about the pain relieving side of kratom. But kratom saved me from myself. I had thoughts of killing myself every day for years and tried a few times. I started on kratom to get off painkillers then I noticed my horrid thoughts where fading. Its been 2 years without a real urge to hurt myself. Kratom saved me too. I will say though that I'm at 100 grams per day and completely miserable. My use jumped up in 2 weeks due to covid and being layed off for a bit. I realize it's completely my fault though. I'm on a slow agonizing taper.

I had a terrible addiction to Kratom. I think it’s important to realize it’s negative aspect as well. At first I was buying Kratom in a liquid form over the counter. The first time I tried it I fell in love. It gave me the same euphoria as prescription opiates but was readily available at head shops and even gas stations (in Louisiana). I would take Kratom once or twice a day, but after a while of using it I was taking it 10-15 times a day. It’s effects were less and less and I needed more and more. When I finally realized I had a problem I tried to stop on my own. The withdrawal was brutal, very similar to opiate withdrawal. I actually had to go to a medical detox center for 2 weeks and they detoxed me from the Kratom the same way they would an opiate detox. And while some will argue it’s benefits, I am providing you a very real firsthand experience that wasn’t good or beneficial. Be cautious. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is.

Kratom can be great, but for people like me with an addictive personality, you can get hooked to it pretty quick, that's if you're like me and was taking higher doses to reach a sedating opioid like effect. I'd say keep your doses as low as possible and just watch out for dependence, it can sneak up on you, and once you're there it can be pretty hard to get out. It's a great plant with medicinal value that should 100% stay legal, but there's definitely an addictive side to it that results in physical dependency. Just saying cause nobody really told me this when I started.

I use Raw Kratom shots and chase with a ton of OJ, even gargle and I cannot get that flavor out of my mouth. It makes me gag just thinking about it. So I take caps instead. The biggest downside for caps is the time to dissolve takes a couple of solid hours on an empty stomach.

I’ve been taking Kratom everyday for 4 years. I think it’s time to stop because I’m scared of health effects as far as my liver and kidneys. I haven’t noticed anything wrong and I would continue to take it if I felt safe. Can anybody shed some light on if this will hurt my liver? I buy the powder and usually put 3 grams in a bottle and drink it. 4-5 times a day. Thank you

You have to taper off your use or you will experience some type of withdrawal. It's not like kicking smack but it will make you feel yucky for a day or two. If you do 3 teaspoons a day, try two and half for few then two, then one and a half ect. You can really get your dose really low and still maintain that kratom feeling. I mean really low like a gram or two a day

Kratom is very subtle, but very nice if you get a good strain and take 5 grams on empty stomach with grapefruit juice. I have never chewed the leaves.
